Different skin types
Knowing your skin type will help you choose products tailored to fit your skin's needs. Refer to the following definition to find out your skincare needs.
When you wake up in the morning, does your skin feel:
Dry
Dry skin only rarely suffers from breakouts. It feels rough and dry to the touch. It is often sensitive and easily irritated, and frequently has fine surface lines – especially around the cheeks –it lacks elasticity and suppleness.
Dehydrated
Skin is usually deficient in moisture at the dermis and epidermis levels. Dehydrated skin is usually identified by its lack of firmness and elasticity. Deep lines and wrinkles as well as a certain loosening of the skin are often characteristic of dehydrated skin that, despite popular belief, is not necessarily considered dry skin.
Normal
Normal skin is ideal and has very little, if any, breakouts. Sebum (or oiliness) is focused on the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin), but especially around the folds of the nostrils. The skin’s pores are barely visible to the naked eye and skin feels soft and comfortable.
Combination to oily
The T-zone tends to become shiny rather quickly and the skin’s pores are often dilated or blocked, particularly true for the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin). Skin feels oily to the touch and can often seem uneven and a little rough.
Acne prone
Acne prone skin tends to break out often (whiteheads), and blackheads are also a common problem. Furthermore, the whole face is likely to be oily and shiny. Easily and often irritated, acne prone skin is frequently plagued by red patches.
