Q: How can I find the right shade of under eye concealer?
A: If the shade is too light, you might end up with “owl eyes”. If the shade is too dark, you’ve just made the problem worse! The ideal colour is usually a hint lighter than your foundation. To determine the right shade, simply match your concealer to the skin of your neck, which is often lighter and more neutral than your face.
Q: What’s the best way to apply concealer?
A: You shouldn’t try to over-camouflage dark under eye circles since the effect is less than natural. If under eye circles have a bluish tinge, use yellow corrector and combine with the right shade of concealer for best results. First, apply the yellow corrector over the bluish area and gently tap to blend. Then, around the eye, apply the concealer shade that best matches your skin tone using the applicator brush. Gently tap to blend into skin and, if necessary, repeat application.
Q: How to determine the right concealer colour?
A: The Concealer Palette lets you use each concealer colour independently or blend them as needed to get the perfect shade that is right for your complexion. To determine the right shade, apply a hint of each colour on the side of your face along the jaw line. Blend the colour that is closest to your own by dabbing gently. If the colour merges perfectly with your complexion, it can be used on its own.
However, if none of the colours is a perfect match, choose the one that is closest to your skin tone and apply a small quantity onto the back of your hand. Add another concealer colour using the applicator brush and blend until the perfect colour is obtained. Then, reapply along the jaw line to adjust the shade.
Q: When should I apply my concealer; before or after applying foundation?
A: Foundation evens out complexion while concealer helps to cover and hide problem areas. So it’s best to use the Concealer Palette after applying foundation.
Q: My eyes are really puffy today, should I still apply concealer under my eyes?
A: Bags under your eyes are much harder to conceal. Avoid applying concealer directly on the bags under the eyes since its creamy texture will only call attention to them. Instead, use the palest shade in the Concealer Palette to brighten up the eyes: dab lightly on the inner corner of the eye and on the outer corner of the under eye bag and sweep towards the outer edge of the eye.
Q: Are there any other applications for my Concealer Palette?
A: The Concealer Palette is extremely versatile; it can be used as a base for eyeshadow and even lipstick when you need your makeup to stay flawless from day into night. The various shades can also be used to minimize certain features or to emphasize others. A dark shade can be used to subtly define cheekbones. When applied on each side of the nose, it can make it seem narrower.
