TIPS AND SOLUTIONS

So cheeky

Marcelle’s blushes are formulated with an extra light texture, perfect for creating that “healthy glow” without any streaks.

Naturally Blushing
Choose a single shade of blush that complements your skin tone. What’s the best colour?  Think of how your cheeks look after an intense workout. This should give you a good idea of what colour looks best on you. Don’t forget to vary the shade according to the seasons. Sweep blush onto the apple of your cheek with a blush brush or another technique is to align brush, on your cheek, with the middle of your eye and lightly sweep blush toward your temple. Feel like something new? Blend a little blush with a tiny dollop of moisturizer to create a cream blush that will give you a natural effect.

Sexy Drama
For red carpet glamour, blush is an absolute ‘must’. First, make sure your complexion is flawless and that the areas around your cheeks are radiant, which means well-hydrated and free of imperfections, the perfect canvas for a proper application. Then sweep blush onto the apple of your cheek, and then apply any remaining blush to your forehead and chin. For added intensity, choose a darker shade. Remember, the lighter your skin tone the lighter your blush colour should be: light skin will be complemented perfectly by pink or coral blush; darker skin should choose shades of red or wine. To finish, create a point of light on your cheek by applying a lighter shade of blush. You can even use a shimmery eye shadow (gold, pink, beige…) to create this final effect.

Sculpture 101
Makeup can be use to hide or highlight a specific area of your face. Rule of thumb: dark shades cover up and light shades highlight. Choose a blush brush (smaller diameter than regular powder brush) for a meticulous application and beautiful effects. The goal is to produce an oval face shape. Anything beyond this shape should be darker; this can be achieved by using blush or bronzing powder. Round shape: the apple of the cheek is concealed and a cheekbone is created with a little blush swept up from the top of the cheek to the temple in a 45 degree angle. Square shape: colour should be focused on the top of the apple of your cheek and blended into the temple. To round out the overall shape, apply a little blush from your chin to the tip of your earlobe, sweeping colour in the form of a “C”. Elongated: create a horizontal triangle by sweeping colour from the edge of your nostrils to your temples to re-shape your face. You could use bronzing powder as a complement. Word of caution: blend colour into your makeup, the effect should only be obvious to you. Let your real beauty shine through!
