Who says that in life, there are no hazards? In our Cheer for Jenn project, the lucky winner of a pair of Hart skis and poles is Andrea Bull. She used to ski on the BC provincial team and actually had the pleasure of dueling Jenn when she was about 14. This year, she is taking it easy and only doing a few competitions but is coaching freestyle skiing! So we’re really happy the skis will get lots of use!

Honouring excellence! Dominick Gauthier was awarded the prestigious title of Coach of the Year on the international arena during the 41st Gala Victoris Desjardins. The former moguls skier, who won the Julius award for Athletic Excellence in the mid-nineties, can now state with certainty that his professional career has been paved with success. “This is his first coaching award!” said his mother, Carole Gauthier, who accepted the award on her son’s behalf. Dominick Gauthier conveyed his deeply-felt appreciation through an email sent directly from Suomu (Finland) where coach Gauthier and his two protégés, Jennifer Heil and Alexandre Bilodeau, were getting ready for their first competition of the Freestyle World Cup Season. Congratulations Dominick!
You’ve undoubtedly viewed the exceptionally original ‘Cheer for Jenn’ video produced by a very good friend of Jenn, Shana Troy. Shana is a dancer and professional choreographer and gave us a behind the scenes look at one of her first rehearsals with the Grands Ballets Canadiens for the beloved classic and ever-popular performances of the Nutcracker.
As a close and trusted friend, Shana Troy made a promise to herself that she would perform a little number especially for Jenn. True to her promise, her performance made Jenn laugh and relax a little before the start of the ski season. Mission accomplished! Exclusively and for your eyes only: introducing a glimpse of the rehearsal of what will be a grandiose performance of the Nutcracker presented in December at the salle Wilfrid Pelletier in Montréal.
Don't miss our exclusive chat with Jenn before her first race of the World Cup season in Suomu, Finland. She told us what it's like to ski over the arctic polar circle, and being on Santa's mountain! We'll keep you posted on her race results + get you the inside scoop. That's right, we'll talk to Jenn after her performance and tell you all about it.
