As the new moguls queen, Jennifer Heil has given her career a trajectory opposite to that of her races: she started at the bottom, only to reach the very top of her sport. By winning her fifth Crystal Globe (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and of course 2010), the Albertan star has equaled the all-time record held by American skier Donna Weinbrecht, who also won the very first moguls Olympic gold in 1992.
But Jennifer’s overall résumé is now the most impressive in the history of women’s moguls, since she’s also won two Olympic medals (Gold in 2006, Silver this year) and two World Championships in 2005 and 2007 (plus two silver medals). An amazing performance that surpasses Weinbrecht’s legendary accomplishments, especially since she was 31 when she won her fifth Globe.
Jennifer is only 26. She has plenty of time to climb another mountain called World Cup Victories. Donna Weinbrecht has climbed on 99 podiums during her illustrious career, winning an incredible 60 times. Jenn currently has 50 podiums and 25 wins, but given her thirst for perfection and her love of ski, expect to see her radiant smile on the highest step more often than not.
